Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Heronfreight, the contract services arm of Heron International, has signed two new long-term contracts worth over £20 million with the Italian domestic appliance manufacturer Zanussi to distribute its products throughout the UK over the next 10 years.

Heronfreight will provide a UK distribution service for all Zanussi white goods cleared through Portsmouth via Le Havre, which acts as the consolidation point for the UK and continental market_ The contract will be control led by Heronfreight's new central office at Portsmouth harbour, supported by its depot and workshop at Portsmouth and Eastleigh. After the appliances have cleared Portsmouth they will be carried by articulated trucks to distributors and retailers.

To handle the contract Heronfreight is spending some £1.5 million on 140 new stepframe semi-trailers. The 12metre tandem-axle units have been specially developed for the Zanussi work in conjunction with trailer chassis manufactur er M&G, and Boalloy, which is supplying curtain-sided bodywork. As part of the deal Heronfreight has also helped Zanussi to redesign its distribution system.

The contract represent a major repeat order for Heronfreight, which has been carrying goods for Zanussi for the past 10 years. It comes hot on the heels of a recent major contract with Gateway Foodmarket. According to Heronfreight, the Zanussi contract makes it the UK's leading white goods distributor.
