Let's have no truck with trucking

HOW PLEASING it would be if those who are doing their best to promote the British motor industry against foreign competitors were to refrain from confusing the issue with American jargon. Then such patriots as George Turnbull, president of the SMMT, would eschew "trucking" and "heavy trucks," which to me are barrows needing two men to push them.

Instead, following in the wheel tracks of our fathers and grandfathers, we would still operate lorries on road haulage and everyone would know we were British and proud of it.
