A "raindrop-detecting automatic windshield wiper" has been introduced by Nissan in Japan. This will be welcomed in a country where most children are born wearing spectacles.
A device that will warn the driver audibly when he is becoming fatigued and in need of rest is also on the stocks. The next logical development will be a hunger sensor with an arm that automatically stuffs a sandwich into the driver's mouth when he is getting peckish.
