DAVID PRESTON has won the 1983 Avril Hardy Award for the best overall result in the Newcastle course.
Mr Preston achieved the best overall mark in the Polytechnic's own final examinations and those of the Chartered Institute of Transport.
During his three year "sandwich" course he worked
for Western Transport in Avonmouth and the brewers J. W. Cameron of Hartlepool.
He is now employed as assistant manager at Western Transport's Warrington depot.
