FRANK CARTER, chief engineer of Northern General, has been made general manager of Yorkshire Traction from February 1 1984 and will succeed Brian Hirst who has become general manager of Alder Valley.
Mr Carter started his career with East Yorkshire in 1954 as an apprentice. He was appointed assistant chief engineer in 1975 and joined Lincolnshire Road Car Company as chief engineer in September 1978. He took up his present appointment in September 1979.
