Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

interior mirrors to be framed, brought' in? We have a batch of new buses in service and the interior mirrors are of the old unframed type which I thought were now illegal. The vehicles were built in July1971.

AThe Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1967 required all vehicles first registered after April 1969 to be fitted with interior mirrors surrounded by -some material such as will render (the) edges (of the mirror) and that material unlikely to cause severe cuts in the event of the mirror or that material being struck by any occupant of the vehicle". This regulation was later consolidated into The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations, 1969, Paragraph 17 (3).

It would, therefore, appear that the buses recently put into service by your company are fitted with an illegal type of interior mirror.
