• A small "run about town" insulated body has been designed with the home freezer boom in mind by commercial vehicle bodybuilders J. H. Sparshatt and Sons Ltd.

Suitable for a range of chassis, the 200 Cu ft capacity body can be used for delivering freezer cabinets — or supplies of frozen food. Sparshatts reckon the vehicle will also be of considerable interest to the hotel and catering industries.

Being well under three tons unladen weight it can be driven by any qualified driver, without the need for a heavy goods vehicle licence.

The steel framed body has interior and exterior panels of alloy and a 4 in thickness of polyurethane insulation throughout. Internal body dimensions are: length 8ft 6in, width 6ft, height 4ft 6in.

To prevent air fall out during loading and unloading inner and outer doors are fitted at the rear. This enables the temperature to be kept down to acceptable limits during town runs — for longer runs Sparshatts offer the option of a hold-over plate refrigeration system within the vehicle.
