Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ADEVICE for cleaning the twin rear wheels of tippers quickly and easily has been produced by William Moseley (Engineers) Ltd. Models for both single and tandem rear-axle vehicles are available.

Called the Moseley Wheel Washer, the unit consists of one or two sets of rollers (depending on the vehicle type) mounted in a substantial steel frame. The vehicle is driven on to the wash and by the movement of one lever the rollers are released and jets of water sprayed on to the wheels. Top gear is engaged and the wheels rotated at a fairly high speed. The mud loosened by the water is then thrown off and collected in a pit beneath the two grids situated in front of and behind the rollers.

Water can be supplied from a town main service. When the location of the site is not connected to a water supply then a tank is installed and the water jets supplied by powerful pumps connected to and driven by the rollers. When this is the case, extremely high pressures are generated and the cleaning operation is quicker.

According to the type of material being cleaned off, the operation can take as little as two minutes. The unit is so constructed as to enable it to be transferred from site to site—as requirements change—quickly and easily. The bearings of the rollers are sealed and it is claimed that little maintenance is required. Each set of rollers will accommodate eight tons.

As part of the sales service the makers will advise on the installation best suitable for any site or load and will provide plans and layout suggestions as well as advice regarding water supplies. Made by: William Moseley (Engineers) Ltd., Bedfont Road, Feltham, Middlesex.

ANEW and improved version of a device for protecting nuts and bolts from corrosive elements has been introduced by Nutshell Cap Co. Ltd.

The unit comprises a protective dome and a plastic ring washer that fits snugly around a standard steel washer and which is fitted between the flat washer and the component to be bolted. The bolt and nut are then tightened in the normal manner. Then the protective dome is snapped into position over the plastic washer, so effectively sealing the bolt head or bolt tail and nut from any injurious elements.
