Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Bridge against shipping at various times in the years up to 1976 if a new Bill goes through.

The Bill has been deposited by the Corporation of London, to enable it to build a new and wider version of London Bridge. Powers are sought by the Corporation to use the bed, banks and foreshore of the Thames to do the work some time during the next 10 years.

The new bridge will have elevated footpaths and footbridges and the work will involve the widening and regrading of Borough High Street, the widening of the bridge carrying Borough High Street over Tooley Street, the provision of a footbridge over Duke Street Hill and an elevated footpath leading to London Bridge Station.

Finishing date is provisionally set at 1976. During the construction period the Corporation wishes to give the Minister powers to close Tower Bridge to shipping "if it is expedient to relieve congestion of traffic over London Bridge".
