Sons. which pioneered the mail service from Stranraer lb Drummore in 1913, ceased operations at the end of 1965. Buses of Western SMT Co. Ltd. have taken over the services.
Special LT Minimum Fare: A lower minimum fare was introduced by London Transport on Sundays only on Green Line coach route 702, which started on December 26, 1965. The new 6d. fare applies between Sonningdale station and West Drive and
between West Drive and Virginia Water, replacing Is. Id. and Is. fares respectively. These arrangements have been made following the request of Bagshot Rural District Council to help local passengers, as the Aldershot and District bus route No. I, which serves this section, has been withdrawn on Sundays.
