Pickfords Now Control Dutch Haulier
DICKFORDS Ltd. have acquired a 75 per cent L holding in P. F. Boers International Transportbedrijf N.Y., of Munster, near Amsterdam. Boers have for a long time been associated with Westfield Transport Ltd., now a Pickfords' subsidiary. It specializes in movement and installation of textile machinery for British exporters throughout Europe.
The directors of the company will be: Mr, W. Partington, chief heavy haulage manager, Pickfords; Mr. R. D. Mason, manager, Westfield Transport; Mr. C. P. Gormley, chief accountant, Pickfords; and Mr. J. Sloof, of Boers.
Pallet pool
AT a meeting of the committee which is examining the practicability of a national pallet pool, in London on Monday, the prospects of starting a pilot pool for the wholesale grocery and provisions industry were again discussed.
There are widely differing views on how quickly a pallet pool scheme can be got off the ground.
Big US Order for Hope Device
Pri-WI first 30 of an order from America for 2,000 -aHope anti-jack-knife devices left London Airport on the last day of 1965. The size of this order reflects the degree of interest in the unit from the US, says the manufacturer, Self-Energising Disc Brakes Ltd., of Bedfont, Middlesex.
