Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ELITE TRANSPORT SERVICES has filed a proposal for a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) with Manchester County Court on 23 January.

However, unsecured creditors have told CM they are "in limbo" because the date of a creditors' meeting is yet to be finalised.

Meanwhile, Collease general manager Duncan Scillitoe confirmed that the truck and trailer hire firm had been affected: "We will work closely with it, as we do with all our customers during tough times."

Last month Elite made all its drivers in Southampton redundant, claiming that port container work had decreased by 8%. The 50 job losses included drivers at its Felixstowe base and admin staff at its Manchester head office (CM 10 January).

According to documents seen by CM, if the CVA goes ahead, unsecured creditors are expected to be offered terms of 37p in the pound.

Elite Transport Services was not available for comment as CM went to press.
