ON-BOARD PSV PROMOTIONS

• Overdubb of Great Dunmow, Essex is offering coach operators on-board promotional tapes which can be played on a normal cassette player to advertise forthcoming tours and excursions.

According to Overdubb's director David Bubb, "everyone riding in a coach is a potential customer for future excursions, holidays and tours and so must be a prime target for marketing strategies. Brochures and leaflets are easily lost or left behind, but passengers can't turn off their ears," he says.

In collaboration with the operator client, Overdubb can script and produce a tape using professional voices, including some well-know TV and radio personalities. The finished tape can be blended into low level background music, either from Overdubb's own library or a specified piece.

Overdubb can also provide commentary tapes for specific excursions, or driver and company introduction tapes with a brief description of the day's coach trip.

Bubb claims that taking the responsibility of on-board announcements away from the driver "would abate the recent increase of Police action against drivers talking into a microphone while on the move."
