Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Lancaster-based TB Turbos has produced a turbocharger kit for the 1.6 litre diesel-engMed Bedford Astra Van and Astramax, which boosts its maximum engine output from 40kW (54hp) to 55kW (74hp).

The conversion consists of a Garrett AlResearch 12 turbocharger with an integral wastegate, new inlet and exhaust manifolds, an oil cooler and replacement air filter. The kit takes around six hours to fit, and costs approximately £1,000 plus VAT, when bought through a Vauxhall/Bedford dealer.

In addition to the 37% rise in power, TB also claims a 30% increase in torque for the turbocharged engine over the naturally-aspirated version, with peak torque rising from 96Nm (71lbft) to 123Nm (911bft) at 2, 40Orpm.

TB Turbos offers a wide range of CV turbocharging kits, including a conversion for the 2.5 litre DI diesel-engined Ford Transit.
