Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of Bedford TLs who wish to replace their engines. Three models from the Darlingtonbuilt 5.9 litre B Series engine range are being offered as direct replacements for the Bedford 5.4 litre engines fitted as standard to most TLs.

Cummins says its 'B' Series engines cost no more than Bedford exchange engines, and the engine manufacturer is offering a 500 trade-in allowance on Bedford 330, 466, and 500 engines, subject to engine inspection.

Bass is one operator which has already fitted 'B Series engines to TLs, and its engineers are pleased with the conversion. They report little difficulty in fitting the new engine, although it is 152mm (6in) shorter than the Bedford unit and requires modified rear engine mountings.

Bedford says that although production of TLs for the civilian market ceased at the end of last year, their engines are still being manufactured for the replacement market and for military trucks. The GM subsidiary says it is committed to supplying replacement truck parts for ten years after production ends.
