• Early action has been taken by St. Helens (Lanes) Corporation with a view to extending the operational scope of a passenger transport department in accordance with Section 36 of the Transport Act which deals with private hire. The appropriate resolution has been passed by the council and. as required, copies of the resolution, together with details of co-ordination arrangements with other undertakings have been forwarded to the MoT.
