Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ON Monday, the Austin Motor Go., Ltd., dosed its Longbridge factory because of lack of coal. Some 15,000 workers were stood off. They are guaranteed a 34-hour working week, so that the company will have to pay wages amounting to about £35,000 a week while the factory is closed. Attempts to secure a special allocation of coal failed.

On Monday. Mr. H. J. Graves, supply manager, and Mr. E. Duncan Brown, works engineer, with representatives of the workers of the Anstin company, and Mr. Raymond Blackburn, M.P., interviewed Mr. Wilmot, Minister of Supply. Figures were submitted to show that the company's fuel allocation was inadequate and Mr. Wilmot promised to consider them.

Questions asked in Parliament on Monday show that some Members of Parliament are concerned at?out the amount of publicity given to the Austin company's plight. As stated at the company's annual general meeting, a new Austin 25-cwt. vehicle is due to be announced this month.
