MI International hauliers experiencing problems in France because of the escalating series of strikes face further disruption as Italian workers vote to follow suit.
UK operators report long delays in France, particularly around Paris, due to congestion caused by the strikes.
Now public transport workers in Italy have called the first in a series of one-day strikes designed to protest at poor pay and conditions.
Italian truck drivers are also
threatening to go on slrike this weekend and have demanded a meeting with Prime Minister Berlusconi.
