An association of transport lawyers has been set up by more than 40 specialists nationwide.
Ian Rothera, of Nottingham firm Rothera`s, will be the first chairman and an executive committee has been established to lay down the rules and aims of the new association. It is expected that the group will exchange information on topical issues; communicate with trade associations and the trade press; and respond collectively to Government about new laws.
An annual conference is planned and it is hoped that contacts with other transport lawyers in Europe will be strengthened.
