• The Government has rejected a call to ban the Japanese-style green lights displayed on some lorry roofs.
At Westminster last week Roger King MP asked the Department of Transport to consider the safety aspects of the forward-facing green roofmarker lights. Transport Minister Robert Atkins told him: "I'm not aware of any safety benefit or harm due to green roof-mounted lights on trucks."
