• Drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods must hold a vocational training certificate valid for five years, say EC transport ministers. The certificates will be compulsory from 1 July 1992 to dangerous goods carried in tanks above 3,000 litres and explosive substances. Drivers of vehicles carrying other types of dangerous goods must comply with the directive from 1 January 1995.
