• Having won the £155 million contract to supply the British Army with 5,350 fourtonners, Leyland Daf is hoping to make inroads into the Middle and Far Eastern military markets.

One of its T244 military trucks is being tested by the Singapore defence ministry for a contract believed to be worth in the region of 2,000 vehicles. AWE) and Mercedes-Benz are also competing strongly for the contract.
