• GKN Axles' Salisbury division has won its largest contract to date, worth over ,217 million a year, to supply axles to IBC Vehicles in Luton.
GKN will invest £15.5 million, mainly on machine tools for its Birmingham-based production plant, which manufactures the axles. The company expects to have created 240 jobs by the time the IBC contract starts in 1991.
