MANAGEMENT at Devon Conversions, the Exeterbased minibus conversion and motor caravan maker, is attempting a rescue of the company which was to be wound up after a creditors' meeting earlier this year.
Devon Conversions is enjoying a share of the current booming demand for minibuses from the public sector and is successful in the community transport field, but it has suffered badly from a major slump in demand for motorised caravans.
• National Bus Company subsidiary PMT Engineering has recruited extra staff to cope with the current boom in minibus orders.
Staffing levels now allow the company a capacity of 200 conversions per year.
PMT produces bus and coach conversions based on Ford Transit, Iveco and Mercedes-Benz vans.
