THE B.R.S. Parcels Branch at Dutton L . Lane, Easficigh, has been redesigned and extended at a cost of more than £60,000.
A 195-ft. extension, which practically doubles the previous platform space has been brought into operation and the offices are now at first-floor level. Access to the yard has been improved by the provision of an additional gate giving access to Dutton Lane. More than' '100000 packages a week are handled by Southampton Parcels branch at peak periods and the improvements will provide ample accommodation for considerable further expansion of traffic pass:ng through. The branch operates 35 vehicles on local collection and delivery work and maintains trunk services to 27 towns and cities throughout -the country.
