a request from the Chief Constable of Somerset asking the Federation if it would publicize a Press notice regarding vehicle lighting. The Chief Constable draws 'attention to the dangerous practice of goods vehicles being driven during the hours of darkness on side lights only. Operators and drivers of transport vehicles are asked to co-operate in maintaining an efficient lighting system on their vehicles, which should never be driven with lights less than dipped headlights.
