ALAN NIGHTINGALE, a London Transport inspector, is writing a history of David MacBrayne's bus services from 1906 until 1972. Researching his subject in the Highlands he met former MacBrayne bus drivers and inspectors at Lochaber, who supplied a lot of information. But he still needs more.
Alan's book will cover also the 15 or so smaller operators taken over by MacBrayne. He is particularly anxious for information and pictures of the company's buses in their wartime grey livery. Some of them ran between Kinlochleven and Fort William.
