1 Once again the "surprise item" at the nnual conference of the Road Haulage .ssociation (Palace Hotel, Torquay. /ctober 19 to 21) will be the announcement I the winner of the Essay Competition. He ill present his paper for discussion after re chairman, Mr William McMillan has ven the inaugural address.
Although the conference opens officially ri the morning of Tuesday October 20, iere will be meetings of the Express arriers and Bulk Liquids Groups on the revious afternoon.
