• Importer IM Group has agreed to start handing over imports of the lzuzu Trooper to General Motors.
A high-spec version of the four-wheel drive Trooper will be sold as the Vauxhall Monterey while IM will sell a diminishing number of lower-priced Troopers. It will import 3,000 Troopers this year, 1,500 SWB models next year and 1,000 Trooper Commercials in 1996.
IM's loss of the Troopers will be balanced by the introduction of the Ssangyong Fj, built in Korea with the cooperation of Mercedes-Benz.
