• Lorry drivers are shown making 600 illegal U-turns in 12 hours on a 35km stretch of the Al in a video produced by Cambridgeshire County Council traffic officers who were working in secret.
The film shows "a series of horrific violations" between Alconbury and Stamford, including turning trucks blocking both lanes of the carriageway, and accelerating the wrong way down the fast lane to get to U-turns nearby.
More than 40 people have died in 500 accidents on the road in the past three years.
