Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT is one thing to invent a mechanical handling device and quite another to persuade hard-headed transport men to imagine its usefulness. When the Joloda equipment was first demonstrated at the Commercial Motor Show in 1960, Mr. H. Robinson, managing director of British Fermentation Products Ltd., of London, quickly realized its potential, and as the pioneer user he deserved almost as much

credit as the inventor and manufacturer, Mr. G. B. Johnstone. He needed a rapid and foolproof method of loading 1-ton pallets carrying bakery products from his factory to cold stores in the provinces.

"The Joloda was the perfect answer", Mr. Robinson told me, "within a week or two one of our York 16-ton trailers had been fitted out and we were very satisfied with the application; so much so that we have over the years installed Joloda in over 20 of our vehicles from 3 to 20 tons capacity. Unquestionably it pays for itself very rapidly. It is economical and labour saving—we used to take up to four hours to load or unload a large van and this now takes a mere half-hour. We couldn't operate without it. I am not surprised that several of our competitors are also using Joloda equipment."
