4 to 3 tons. Various types of tailboard platform are available, including cantilever boards with torsion bar assisted closing, and operation may be hydraulic, from p.t.o. pump, or electro-hydraulie, from 12 or 24-volt supply.

Of special interest is a new type of twin-ram tail-lift which raises up to 3 tons to vehicle floor level and up to 1 ton to near-roof height, thus maximizing loading capacity while maintaining the centre of gravity within acceptable limits. Prices of standard equipment vary from £230 to £445, with fitting charges from £35 to £160.

Five Sheppard MeiIler elevating tail-gates with lifting capacities from 10 cwt. to 2 tons are distributed by Sheppard Equipment Ltd., Rymer Lane, Barnham, Thetford.
