WHAT is believed to be the first use of Freightliner services by a private haulage firm occurred last weekend when Charles Alexander and Partners (Transport) Ltd. forwarded a 213 ft. container from Aberdeen to Kings Cross (York Way) terminal.
Mr. G. H. Scott of Charles Alexander told COMMERCIAL MOTOR that originated traffic was wholly from Aberdeen but the "fair mixture" of goods was for delivery in the London area and as far south as Portsmouth. It was too early to say whether the service would be a regular feature.
