CRITICISM continues to be voiced in RHA areas about the growing influence over the Association exerted by the big groups. Latest evidence of this is a resolution from the Yorkshire (West Riding) area expressing concern that the proposed constitution of the national executive council will give control of the Association to the large operators.
The area urges the national council to review the whole set-up for the representation of holding companies. In particular, the area points out that the big companies can add to their direct representation of 10 on the NEC by getting their nominees elected to the council and functional groups via the area.
