Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE DEPARTMENT for Transport's latest quarterly figures on the number of large goods vehicles travelling from the UK to mainland Europe show a small increase on the same period last year.

In the second quarter of this year 720,000 commercial units made the journey, including 198,000 unaccompanied trailers.

Of more than 500,000 powered vehicles making the crossing, 382.600 were foreign and 128.200 were UK-registered. The number of foreign vehicles was fractionally up on the same time last year and the number of UK vehicles was fractionally down.

The figures are compiled by returns provided by RO-RO ferry operators and Eurotunnel.
