anti-lock braking system for trailers at the Birmingham NEC motor show. MODAL will be available as a one, two or threechannel system for two, four or six-wheel sensors.
It will be interchangeable with competitor's systems and compatible with all truck systems, says Grau. The system will feature on-board diagnostics and will not require any other test equipment.
Wheel sensing will be handled via 100-tooth exciter rings instead of the more common 60tooth models. Supplies of MODAL will be available "in good time
for mandatory fitment in 1991."
An updated version of the company's MGX trailer system, will be on show, also with 100tooth exciter rings. Also on the stand will he a working demonstration of Grau's new automatic slack adjuster. which has been developed with the co-operation of axle and trailer manufacturers throughout Europe.
