THE Freight Transpoi Association has introduced ferry discount servic claimed to bring substantii savings to small operatoi who only occasionally tak vehicles abroad.

Initially, the service will operated in conjunction wi• Townsend Thoresen, Sealir and P & 0 Ferries and is availab from many ro/ro ports in ti Channel, North Sea and In! Sea.

Each ferry voucher bought I a member provides vehicle ins rance whilst it is on the fen Operators of light vans and ca can also use the service.

Discounts vary according the volume of traffic, the p( used, and the length of ti vehicle /trailer.

For example, the current ba! rate for a vehicle over 5.5m lo going from Dover to Calais £17.50 per metre. F members will pay no more th £13 per metre.
