Volvo 10100A turbocharged six-cylinder diesel of 9.6 litres (586cu in) developing 172kW (230bhp) at 2,200rpm. Maximum torque of 881 Nm (650 lbft) at 1,400rpm.
TRANSMISSION
Through 355mm (14in) diameter twin dryplate Fichtel and Sachs clutch to Volvo R61 eight-speed range-change gearbox. Final drive Volvo hub-reduction.
FRAME
Frame width 800mm (31.5in). Side-members of pressed channel section. Web height 273mm (10.7in) and flange width 85mm (3.35in). Material thickness, web 6.5mm (0.26 in) and flanges 13mm (0.51 in).
BODYWORK
Edbro 15 DN twin-ram underfloor gear and subframe with standard sides and scow end dump-type body, 6.35mm (0.25in) floor, 7.94m (0.3125 in) top rail, 9.2cum 12cu yd) nominal struck capacity. Angle of tip 70° with 20° scow angle.
