Brian Harper, has been appointed area engineer (Eastern) for Midland Red. Lawrence R. Pope, 44, succeeds Brian Jepson as regional architect for the Western region of National Bus Company. David Bruce, 26, who, joined NBC as an assistant economist in 1970, has been appointed assistant transportation planning officer, based at Oxford. Gordon Willey, 26, former economist with the North Eastern Electricity Board joins NBC as a planning assistant economist.
Malcolm S. Stewart has been appointed traffic manager with Western SIV1T, Kilmarnock. He succeeds James S. Mack who was recently appointed general manager of Alexanders (Fife). Mr Stewart trained with Alexanders (Midland) and in 1971 was appointed traffic manager of Alexanders (Northern) in Aberdeen. Another Scottish Bus Group appointment is that of S. M. Reid, who has been appointed assistant engineer of Highland Omnibuses at Inverness.
W. Bell, 33, former cleansing superintendent with Easington District Council, Co Durham, has been appointed transport engineer with Gateshead Metropolitan District Council.
Richard Perry, md of British Leyland's Austin Morris Division, is to become deputy md of the Rover Triumph Division following the death of Bill Saunders, director of manufacturing for Rover Triumph. Keith Hopkins, director of public relations, will succeed Mr Perry as md of the Austin Morris Division, B. D. Insch, previously sales director, Harvey Spicer Ltd, is appointed md of Salisbury Transmissions Ltd. Both companies are part of the GKN Transmissions Group. Mr lnsch is also appointed md of GKN Centrax Gears Ltd and of Vermillion Engineers Ltd.
D. R. Haywood, former director of Salisbury Transmissions now becomes director and general manager of Centrax Gears and Vermillion Engineers. P. W. Atherton and T. H. Millward, sales director and technical director respectively of Salisbury Transmissions, are appointed directors of Centrax Gears and Vermillion Engineers. D. T. Hibbard, director, controller and secretary of GKN Transmissions Ltd is to join the supervisory board of Nordiska Kardan AB, Sweden, and A. A. Halsiman, deputy chairman and md of Hardy Spicer Ltd, is to be appointed to Nordiska Kardan's board of management. Stanley Cox, former director and general works manager of Crossley Premier Engines Ltd, has been appointed manufacturing director of Rolls-Royce Motors' Diesel Division. Frank Cook, formerly with Mirrlees Blackstone Ltd becomes supplies director of the Division, Michael J. Jeffery, former sales manager for Nightingale. Engineering Ltd, is to become sales manager for W. J. Boyes and Son Ltd, south eastern distributors for ERF. Brian Whittaker becomes service manager of the company's Orsett depot.
