We always have available approximately 1,100 ex-military vehicles, and would say that the most popular vehicle we offer, being suitable for all passenger car and most light commercial recovery work—we sell approximately 45-50 of them a year—is the Austin Model K.9 four-wheel-drive. It is offered fitted with the Harvey Frost 3-ton-capacity twinlift variable-jib recovery-crane. These vehicles are serviced in our workshops. fitted with spare wheel and tyre, usual lighting, seating, new batteries, etc., having the rear body suitably shaped to recovery type, and repainted to customer's single choice of colour for the price of £435 only, ex-works.
To take another example we have recently commenced offering the T.F. L. T.20, 20-toncapacity fully hydraulic recovery crane, manufactured by Tracel, fitted to the Diamond T 6 X 4 ex-military tank transporter tractor units, which are fitted with a Garwood 40-toncapacity tank-recovery winch, obviously capable of recovering any current commercial vehicle which may have left the road and fallen down an embankment or fallen into a situation where direct lifting is not possible.
We offer the Diamond T vehicles fitted with the above crane and prepared for service, repainted to customer's choice of colour, for £2,950 each only, ex-works.
