Swingler with a yashmak over his military moustache, his trousers rolled up to the knee and his waist girt about with flimsy chiffon. doing a houri dance as if in humble supplication to an Eastern potentate? No. neither could I. But seeing is believing, and the Minister was indeed among a band of "volunteers" who performed womanfully during the cabaret at the MPTA annual dinner and dance in Brighton last week.
Since they were closer than anyone else to the real dancing girls in the cabaret, I think this group of pressed men had the last laugh.
Altogether, it was a very enjoyable evening, and retiring president (by title, if not by nature) Norman Harris had a nice surprise when Senator Carl Tull, who presented a paper at the conference, presented Norman with a carved table representing his native Trinidad and demonstrating the excellent workmanship which is achieved there.
