It is produced by Temple Press Ltd., Bowling Green Lane, London, E.C.1, on behalf of the British Internal Combustion Enaine Manufacturers' Association. Intended as a guide to those concerned with power units for industrial, marine and railway purposes, the catalogue costs £2 12s, 6d., plus 2s. 6d. postake to any part of the World. Its 365 large pages include 800 illustrations. Sections are printed in French, Spanish, Portuguese and German, as well as in English, and there is a glossary in these languages of the technical terms and abbreviations used. The total number of engines, including free-piston units, dealt with is 27 per cent. greater than that of the 1954 edition. The power rhnge represented by the units described is from 1.545,600 b.h.p., whilst the free-piston engines are from 420-1.250 g.h.p.
TORQUAY TOUR REFUSAL: FOUR-DAY APPEAL
AN appeal is to be heard in Leeds, beginning on Monday, against the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners' refusal to grant excursion and tour licences for Torquay and Paign ton to Yelloway Motor Services, Ltd., Hebble Motor Services, Ltd., and operators in the Yorkshire Pool. The hearing is expected to last four days. Licences to operate Torquay and Paignton tours were granted to Wallace Arnold Tours, Ltd., Hansons Buses, Ltd., Huddersfield, and J. W. Kitchen and Sons, Leeds.
