MR, H. C. TETT has succeeded SIR LEONARD SINCLAIR as chairman of the Cleveland Petroleum _Co., Ltd. Sir Leonard has resigned from the board to reduce his business commitrrients.
MR. I. M. E. FELL, export director of A.C.V. Sales, Ltd., returned last week from a seven-month tour of countries _including Australia, Canada, Ceylon, India, Iraq, Iran, Malaya. New Zealand and Pakistan.
MR. G. F. LAURENCE, director and general manager of Brookes (Oldbury), Ltd., has resigned and become personal assistant to MR. M. GOLDSMITH, chairman and managing director of Metalastik, Ltd.
MR. BRYCE COUSENS, manager of the western automotive division of the Mobil Oil Co., Ltd., has resigned from the company to take up an executive appointment with the Standard Motor Co., Ltd. MR. G. B. REID has been promoted to succeed him.
MR. BERNARD DYER has been appointed general manager of the planning division of F. Perkins, Ltd., and MR. GORDON SMITH deputy general manager of the manufacturing division. Mr. Dyer joined thin company in 1951, and Mr. Smith as -an apprentice in 1941.
Ma, D. D. FLyNN has been appointed assistant manager of the London division of the National Benzole Co., Ltd. MR. J. E. PEARMAN has become assistant manager of the Sheffield division, and MR. BERNARD PRESTON assistant manager of the Lancashire division. MR. T. F. MACFARLANE has been appointed manager of the consumer trades department at the company's head office. He previously held the position now taken up by Mr. Preston. MR. W. L. RONEY, London divisional manager since 1949, has been appointed manager, distribution, at the company's head office.

MR. GEORGE ROBINSON has been promoted to the post of transport manager of St. Helens Co-operative Society, in succession to Ma. J. GREEN. who has retired after 45 years' service.
MR. ARTHUR EDWARDS, a director of J. J. Edwards, Ltd., has been elected national chairman of the Institute of the Furniture Warehousing and Removing Industry, and Ma. D. R. PEARCE, removals manager of the Army and Navy Stores, Ltd., vice-chairman.
MR. G. B. HOWDEN has been appointed chairman of the Ulster Transport Authority to serve as from October 1. The members, who will serve for a year. are MR, A. G. ALGEO, MR. W. A. EDM ENSON, MR. J. E. FINNEY, SIR DUDLEY rsit ccoRK ELL, MR. T. G. NIcLAuGHLIN, MR. G. H. PORTER, MR. J. S. RODGERS, MR. A. E. SWAIN and MR. J. WALKER. Mr. Howden has also been appointed senior member of the Great Northern Railway Board.
