Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Peugeot has launched the 106 Van, a dieselengined hatchback that will replace the 205 Van. The only version available in the UK is the 106 XRAD, powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel that produces 58hp (43kW).

Maximum power is on tap at 5,000rpm, with peak torque of 701bft (95Nm) at just 2,250rpm; this compares well with other vans in the class, which tend to have larger engines.

Peugeot quotes a payload of 460kg with a load volume of 1.02m3. Allowing 75kg for the driver gives a practical payload of 385kg; one of the best figures in the class. The Peugeot's load volume is almost identical to that of the Vauxhall Corsa Van, but the 106 can boast a longer (1.345m) loadspace and greater (1.075m) width between the wheelarches.

Maximum internal width is 1.278m; maximum internal height is 880mm and loading height is 695mm.

The single equipment level includes a rear washer/wiper, a half-height bulkhead, cloth seats and a stereo radio/cassette player.

The ,E6,930 (ex-VAT) price puts the attractive 106 in close competition with the Ford Fiesta Van.
