The new 3.25-tonne tare Irik-tainer is designed to carry owdered or granulated proucts at 1.0 bar, but has a 50% igher design rating.

Further details have also een released on the cornany's new sliding curtain-sided esign for TER trailers (CM 29 eptember — 5 October 1988). The side curtains will slide on nylon-clad runners that are attached at the top of the reinforcing vertical nylon straps which are set at 60cm intervals. Pre-painted steel buckles will be supplied as standard and stainless steel versions are also available. Tensioning devices will be accomodated within the corner posts of the steelframed headboard, while sideposts at either flank are moveable over the full length and can be located for transit within the central 4.0m.

Van Hoot's Belgium trailer body plant, which has expanded by 30,000m2 this year, has also developed a new section profile for its bulk containers that has enabled capacities to be increased by 20%. Previously square-sectioned tanks have radiussed corners for better cleaning, and each side is curved outwards on a 4.0m radius.

Earlier aluminium versions with the new shape were made with a 50,500-litre capacity for non-pressurised work.

The latest tanks are of aluminium, steel or stainless steel (for better heat retention) and are re-inforced to offer a 1.5 bar design rating.
