• One of City Vehicle Engineering's first Omni minibuses will be run as a demonstrator for local authorities and bus operators by the Department of Transport.
It is being built to specifica tions recommended by the Disabled People Transport Advisory Committee, which has already adapted a Leyland National for the project.
Transport Minister Peter Bottomley says the benefits of low, wide doors, handrails and well-placed stanchions on the Omni will help all passengers. particularly those who are elderly or disabled.
