GRAMPIAN Regional Council has launched a new service over the Cabrach to Aberdeen to be operated by E. Glennie of Newmill near Keith. It won the work by competitive tender.
The Tuesday and Saturday direct-link will start at Rothes picking up as far as Bridge of Alford and then non-stop.
The Speylink bus will be able to provide cheap fares.
It will run for a three-month experimental period and is part of the programme of redevelopment of region-sponsored bus services in the area, one of the most isolated in Scotland.
