Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

On-road tipper

THE other 16-tonner which came our way during the last 12 months was a tipper version of Ford's D1614 model.

Fitted with a 7cum (9 cuyd) Telehoist body, the Ford nevertheless had a mechanical specification aimed at the operator with a high proportion of on-road running. With its axle ratio of 5.29, the Ford had a maximum speed of 103km /h (64mph) while at the same time, aided by its 10.7 bottom gear, it restarted from rest on a 1 in 4 gradient.

Overall the Ford achieved a fraction under 11mpg, the actual figure being 25.9I1t/ 100km (10.97mpg).

The braking performance was poor. Taking 45m (147ft) to stop from 40mph did not exactly cover the Ford with glory on this aspect of performance.
