Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Good payload

.DURING the course of the past few years we have tested just about every size and shape of F86 which Volvo has produced. The latest was the single-drive version of the Irvine built eightwheeler. Borrowed for the test from London Brick, the Volvo complete with Freight Developments body had a payload capacity of well over 20 tons—equal to many artics running at a higher gross weight.

Geared for around 60mph in top gear, the 8x2 recorded 31.81 lit/100km (8,9mpg) on the motorway section of the Midlands test route. With the relatively small (6.7 litre or 409 cuin) engine working hard, frequent use of the gearbox was necessary but even so, the mild motorway gradients pulled the average speed down to 74km /II (46mph).

Overall the F86 returned an average fuel consumption of 36,2 lit/100km (7.8mpg) which was one of the best ever eight-wheeler performances although in fairness most of the others we have tested have been double-drive machines, The London Brick Volvo was fitted with a bogie lift load transfer device. This had an inbuilt overload cut-out to protect the drive axle against raising the axle completely when fully laden.
