Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CHRYSLER'S Dodge commercial vehicle-interests still look like one of the biggest prizes for Peugeot-Citroen, now that the British Government has finally approved the company's plans to take over Chrysler Europe.

While PSA Peugeot-Citroen has said it will continue to operate all five British produc tion facilities (Ryton, Stoke, Luton, Dunstable, and Linwood) "to the extent con sistent with prevailing economic conditions", the Lu ton and Dunstable commercial vehicle plants appear a base upon which PSA will attempt to build.

The Government approved the takeover last week, leaving only the French Government and the company's shareholders to give their approval, thus removing the last likely obstacle to the deal.

Alternatives of the National Enterprise Board or British Leyland taking over Chrysler UK were rejected, in the latter case as it was believed that BL chairman Michael Edwardes had stipulated that only some of the plants would be kept open by BL.
